Music by The Piano Brothers

Louis G. Bouma, age 61, passed away on September 6, 2017 in Bozeman, Montana, following a lengthy illness. Louis was born September 17, 1955 in Choteau, Montana to Pastor Henry and Paula Bouma. From his early days Louis showed a love for the Lord. What was in his heart often came out in his conversation. His walk and his talk was an example to others. Louis and his brother Hank, joined together in partnership as “Bouma Brothers”, running the home farm for a few years. He enjoyed small business opportunities during much of his life, selling products and speaking with people. Louis worked for N.E.W. in Great Falls as a telephone operator assistant. He was a truck driver, delivering produce to Canada for some time. Also he worked for Gospel Mission Book Ministries in Choteau. Louis enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also traveled across the United States and even fulfilled a dream of his, traveling to Africa on a safari. Louis is survived by his two brothers, Hank (Laura) Bouma of Bozeman, Barney (Emily) Bouma of Choteau, and two sisters, Norrine (Phillip) Kaat of Plymouth, Wisconsin and Karen (Steven) Aichelmann of Prosper, Texas. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Pastor Henry and Paula Bouma, of Choteau and his niece Carmen Hendrickson of Oostburg, Wisconsin. Louis’s dear mother, Paula, was his most faithful friend, as she stood so faithfully by his side and helped him through sickness and health. She was his support, and gave him the will and reason to live. Funeral Services for Louis will be held at Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home in Choteau, Montana, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2 O’clock PM with Pastor Kevin Lytle officiating. Graveside services will follow at Choteau Cemetery and a reception will follow the grave side services at the Stage Stop Inn, Choteau. There will be no public viewing. A memorial fund will be established in Louis’s name. Louis will be dearly missed. whomever wrote Louis' obituary summed up his life very well. His life, indeed was a consistant witness to his love for the Lord. I honestly wondered when Paula died, how long it would be before Louis would follow, and now we know....

I will miss his magpie impersonations for sure, and from time to time over the years have heard magpies and thought of Louis.... and I think I always will.... with fond memories ~

I was so saddened and shocked when I heard of the death of your dear brother Louis; but may the Lord help each of you to bow to his holy will. "As for God, his way is perfect." It is beyond our finite ability to understand the high and holy ways of the Lord, but may he give grace to believe that "he hath done all things well," even by taking Louis after his dear mother, Paula. I trust it will be for the furtherance of the gospel in the hearts and lives of those remaining upon this earth, as eternity is fast approaching for each one of us. May the dear Lord Jesus Christ and his blessed Spirit be your gracious Comforters, and in due season turn all of this sorrow into everlasting joy and praise. What a mercy to join that vast multitude around the throne of God and the Lamb who are now singing, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain," where I believe Louis is at this very moment--a sinner saved by free and sovereign grace! With Christian love and prayers to the family.
