Dr. Andrew Augustus Jordan, “Gus”, 90 of Choteau, Montana passed away on December 7th, at Benefis hospital in Great falls surrounded by his loving wife and five children. He was the son of his parents, Dr. Elverse M. Jordan and Lucille (Zapp) Jordan of Texas. He was born on January 24, 1929 in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he grew up.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday December 28th at 11:00am at the Choteau United Methodist Church where Pastor Zack Bechtold will be officiating.

Gus graduated from East High School in May of 1946 where he met his future wife June Running whom he later married on August 4th, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After earning a B.S. Degree at the University of Wisconsin in 1951 he went on to start Dental school at the Marquette University Dental School in fall of the same year. June and Gus were married for 68 wonderful years and had five children, 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. After graduation from dental school he enlisted in the U.S Air force and served for two years at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota. He then moved his family to Choteau Montana where he practiced dentistry for over 40 years.  Gus fell in love with the outdoors of Montana while working summers at Yellowstone National Park, in particular the fly fishing opportunities. While living in Montana he enjoyed the hunting, fishing, skiing, and camping with his family. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting pictures of wildlife and old buildings in watercolor and oil mediums. His pictures won him many awards and he was active in the Charlie Russell auction from its beginning.  In 1960 his watercolor picture “Waiting For the Thaw” was chosen in the Motorola northwest area calendar contest and was used for the month of December. His sweetheart wife and five children survive him:
Andrew A. Jordan, Jr., (Sheri), M.D. of North Dakota
Elizabeth (Tom) Maltby of Bynum, MT
Heather Lee Jordan, Minneapolis, MN
John R. Jordan (Gail), D.D.S., Detroit Lakes, MN
Schuyler A. (Duane) VanDyke, D.M.D., Conrad, MT
