Raymond “Ray” Louis Myers, 50, of Choteau passed away suddenly on May 5, 2020 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT.
Ray was born on May 9, 1969 in Santa Monica, CA. to Leigh Myers and Marianne Hoar; he was the second of four siblings. He attended William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills, CA, and graduated in 1987. Ray also had had two children: Abigail Myers and Samuel Myers.
Ray was a natural mechanic, and he loved to work on vehicles. Ray owned a junk yard and had worked at a BMW dealership, Honda dealership, and a school bus yard in California. Ray moved to Choteau, MT in 2012 to work for Johnson Auto Repair Recycle. He worked there for a few years and went on to work at Courtesy Ford in Conrad, Bison Ford in Great Falls, and eventually Gear Grabbers Garage in Great Falls.
Along with Ray’s love of cars, he was a master gardener and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a fish expert and he was always bringing critters home as a child and when his children were little. He was an excellent cook, and he took great pride in his family, especially his new granddaughter, Averie. Ray was a fan of living life to the fullest, he was a great friend and will be deeply missed by many.
Ray is survived by his father Leigh Myers of Woodland Hills, CA; his daughter Abigail Myers (Steven Hale) of Missoula, MT; his son Samuel Myers of Kalispell, MT; granddaughter Averie Marianne Hale of Missoula, MT; siblings Leigh Myers Jr. of Fontana CA, Georgiann Quartararo of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Susanne Myers of Portland, OR. Ray is also survived by his special friend and domestic partner, Becky LaValley, of Choteau, MT as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
Ray is pre-deceased by his mother and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration will take place Saturday; August 29, 2020 at 11:00 o’clock am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Choteau, MT with a reception following at the Stage Stop Inn.
In lieu of the current situation a celebration of life has been set for a later date.
